Hello, I'm Jeff, an English and Literature teacher from Kenya. I hold a Bachelor of Education (Arts) in English and Literature from South Eastern Kenya University and a TEFL certificate, and I'm registered with Kenya's Teachers Service Commission.
My teaching journey began with my practicum at St. Stephen's Kaveta Secondary School in Kitui, where I learned to plan lessons, manage a classroom and explain difficult ideas in simple steps. Since then, I have taught English and Literature at Makueni School, including Global Studies with a Cambridge IGCSE focus. I have also prepared Form 4 candidates for the KCSE national exam, so I know how to build exam confidence, from essay structure and time management to answering literature questions clearly.
My lessons follow the Competency-Based Education approach, which means you learn by doing. Instead of only memorising rules, you will practise speaking, reading, writing and thinking critically, and I will give you clear feedback after every task so you can see your progress.
