My Teaching Methodology and Classroom Approach
My teaching approach is student-centred, interactive, and focused on creating a positive, engaging, and professional learning environment. I use Total Physical Response (TPR), visual aids, gestures, facial expressions, repetition, modelling, and real-life examples to help students understand and retain new English vocabulary and sentence structures.
I adapt my teaching style according to each student's age, English proficiency, learning pace, and individual needs. I use simple, clear instructions and demonstrate activities where necessary to ensure students understand what is expected of them.
I encourage active participation through questions, speaking exercises, reading practice, pronunciation correction, and guided sentence construction. I use positive reinforcement and specific praise to build students' confidence, motivation, and willingness to communicate in English.
I regularly check students' understanding rather than simply moving through the lesson material. When a student struggles, I rephrase the question, provide examples, use visual or physical cues, and offer additional practice before gradually encouraging independent answers.
I maintain a professional and well-organised online classroom, manage lesson time effectively, follow the provided curriculum, and aim to ensure that learning objectives are met. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, learning from them, and developing their English communication skills.
I believe effective ESL teaching combines patience, structure, encouragement, and adaptability, helping every student make meaningful progress while enjoying the learning process.
